SALON

An experience you can only get in front of the artwork.

SALON is a small space created at the entrance of our workshop with the hope that you will "see, feel, and learn" more about the Ito family's Gosho dolls.
In this intimate, approximately 13-square-meter space, we display three to four works, including Gosho dolls and pieces featuring gofun (shell powder) relief with gold leaf. When you visit, you will primarily be guided by Shogoro, the 13th-generation successor to Kyuju.
We hope that by seeing, feeling, and learning about the "translucent white skin" of the Gosho dolls—and their expressions and textures not only from the front, but also from the sides and back, which photos and videos cannot fully convey—you will develop an interest in these dolls.
Please note that visiting the SALON is by appointment only.
Away from the bustle of the city center, please take your time to enjoy the artwork while surrounded by the nature of each season and listening to the murmuring of the nearby stream and the chirping of birds.
